FROM "MUSIC IN THE PARK" TO "GAPA LIVE"
What began in 2006 as a summer concert series under the name “Music in the Park” has developed into a permanent cultural highlight in Garmisch-Partenkirchen over the years.
Under the musical direction of Edi Schönach from 2006 until the 2022 summer season, the format grew steadily and regularly attracted numerous visitors. Since 2023, Korbinian Saller has continued the tradition as musical director with fresh impetus - now with a new logo and new name “GaPa live”.
Today, “GaPa live” delights visitors with around 90 concerts per season - a colorful mix of brass music, classical music, pop, rousing special nights and lovingly designed children's concerts. The great variety and special atmosphere make every concert an unforgettable experience at numerous locations.

“Dear friends of music and culture, dear guests, dear locals...”
... this is how Edi Schönach greeted the audience in the Michael Ende Kurpark for many years. On 26.01.2023, the founder, organizer and artistic director of “Musik im Park” closed his eyes forever after a short, serious illness. The commitment, passion and love he invested in this project cannot be measured in hours. It is measured by the enthusiasm of the audience, the popularity with guests and locals and, above all, the joy with which his fellow musicians took to the stage each time. A joy in making music together and in enchanting other people with music.
Edi, we will never forget you, you live on in our music.
